an inviting escape

Rataboul - a lovingly restored pigeon loft situated in the solitude and calm of rural south west France.

a peaceful retreat

A delightful haven for a couple or a family, Rataboul is a secluded 19th century pigeonnier, at the end of a track, deep in the countryside. At Rataboul you will find calm and tranquility in your own private hideaway, hidden amongst the plum trees.

at home on holiday

Rataboul is tasteful, comfortable and stylish. Perfect for a couple, or ideal for a family or group of up to four. Your kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm. Host a barbecue on the south-facing terrace. Cosy up around the woodburner on a cooler evening. If you need to stay connected, there’s high speed wifi. A great night’s sleep is guaranteed in the super king-sized bed with crisp sheets and plump pillows. Your children or friends will be well rested and relaxed on the large sofa bed. And if breakfast is just too much effort, we’ll provide a basket filled with treats from our local artisans.

Is this France’s best-kept secret? Our region is where the French choose to come to escape the tourist crowds. You will find Rataboul about an hour north of Toulouse, in one of western Europe’s least populated areas.

Puylaroque - ancient, charming and a walk across the fields to the bakery, grocery, bar and gastronomic restaurant.

The Aveyron Valley - dramatic limestone cliffs, countless picnic spots, wild swimming, shady rock pools, kayaking, fishing, floating.

Tarn et Garonne - a region bathed in heritage, culture and nature. France’s market garden and just a short drive to many fine restaurants, castles, local markets, way-marked trails, lakes, the Aveyron river and the rolling Gaillac vineyards.
